Managers and leaders are responsible for getting the job done through the efforts of others. To get the job done through others, you have to communicate with them. Your communication will cause a reaction that deposits a feeling in their brain. That deposited feeling is what they will carry around the workplace day-to-day. It will manifest itself through their actions and communications with others.
Ask yourself how do you want a person to react to your communication? How do you want them to feel? What do you want them carrying around the workplace all day sharing with their colleagues? If you don’t care how they feel – after all it’s just business isn’t it? – then you’ll get compliance, not alignment.
Smart managers and leaders want people to feel inspired, motivated, and good about themselves. When that happens, you have motivated people.
Leave positive brain deposits
