Use numbers, not percentages

Which sounds better:

  1. 20% of dentists don't recommend sugarless gum...
  2. 80% of dentists recommend sugarless gum...
  3. 4 out of 5 dentists recommend sugarless gum...
They all say the same thing, but many of us prefer #3 because we tend to relate to numbers better than percentages. Keep that in mind the next time you update the company's sales materials.
