How to make the old version of Microsoft Office work with version 2007

If you use an older version of Microsoft Office but have to open and/or share files with someone using Microsoft Office 2007, then download Microsoft's compatibility pack. According to the company, "installing the Compatibility Pack along side of Microsoft Office XP, or Office 2003, you will be able open, edit, save, and create files using the Open XML Formats new to the 2007 Microsoft Office system."
