How to find hidden fees before using an online service

There are many useful online services, but sometimes it's hard to tell if they're free. A quick way to determine if and how you could be charged is to search their fine print for the words fee, cost, and charge.

A lot of online services will have their costs buried in the "Terms" or "Terms of Service" link usually found on the bottom of the front page of their website. Others place costs in the "FAQ" or "Help" section.

Once you find the "Terms" page, simply use your browser's find function (CTRL + F) to search on fee, cost, and charge. In the example, you'll see the term "Fees" appear on Jobfox's terms of service.
