A shortcut for quickly seeing all previous articles on a blog is to use Google Reader. Why would you want to do this? One reason is to determine if a newly discovered blog is worth subscribing to. Another is to research information quickly.
For example, let's say you plan to make a presentation and want to find some expert information fast. I can use Google Reader to list all of the articles by The Extreme Presentation Blog. Now I can quickly scroll for relevant articles. As you can see in the image, I'm going back as far as 2006.
If I like this blog, I can subscribe to it. But I don't have to if all I need are some articles.
