We have a new Canon Vixia HF200 camcorder at work. It records video in high definition AVCHD format, and the video files are saved with the extension .mts (e.g., 0001.MTS). The problem is that I want to import it into Microsoft MovieMaker, but MovieMaker doesn't recognize the format. So to convert a .mts video file into a format MovieMaker recognizes (e.g., AVI, WMV), use the free conversion program Format Factory.
